What makes a healthy relationship?
Most of the relationships look perfect at the beginning once you find someone that you think is right for you fall in love and everything else seems to fall into place. Yaaa you know, in early stages of a relationship it’s totally normal when you see everything rosy always seem to get along and rarely argue but do you feel good about yourself and having fun likes it suppose to be? Well, it’s not easy to have a healthy relationship: But like everything else that is worthwhile to achieve, it takes time, energy and you have to work at it to make them healthy. Of course, every relationship goes through changes; Surviving the ups and downs becomes the glue to keep you together.
In a healthy relationship, it involved three important people each of you and the relationship itself. All three have its own responsibilities; both of you and your partner need to have enough self-esteem so you matter, so you respect yourself and other respect you and so you’re not desperate if something happen into the relationship. Now what makes a healthy relationship? Good judgement about this requires a three part-analysis: using your mind, heart an intuition. Use your mind analyze the qualities of your relationship and determine whether it is healthy. Use your heart and emotions you have for your partner. And follow your intuition, that gut sense that tells you whether his/her is really right for you. When you’re in healthy relationship, you’ll feel good about yourself, feel comfortable, secure and happy around your partner, and healthy peer relationship involve an equal amount of give and take. So, to makes a healthy relationship, make sure your relationship has these qualities
~ Good communication & sharing. Open communication is the most important part in any healthy relationship between two peoples so you can solve problem and express your feelings. Besides, by talking to each other, you’re being able to share things about yourself and your feelings. Discussing things, allowing for different opinion, and compromising equally make both of you comfortable with one another. In healthy relationship, people don’t lie. Communication is based on honesty and trust. Speak openly and honestly so that miscommunication can be avoided in the first place.
~ Mutual support. It is important supporting each other’s goals in life, and respecting each other’s right to his/her own feelings, opinions, friends, activities and interest. It is valuing one’s partner as an individual. In a healthy relationship, your significant other is there with a shoulder to cry on when you find out your parents are getting divorced and celebrate with you when you get the lead in a play. Means that, you’re always there for him/her, whether in sad or happy moment or no matter how hard it could be.
~ Respect and trust. To build and maintain the healthy relationship, you need to trust and being honest to your own feelings and trusting your partner with your feelings. Honestly goes hand-in-hand with trust because it’s tough to trust someone if one of you isn’t being honest. It’s OK to get a little jealous sometimes jealousy is a natural emotions. But how a person reacts when he or she feels jealous is what matters. There’s no way you can have a healthy relationship if you don’t trust each other. Both of you should respecting individuality, embracing differences, and allowing each person to be themselves. An understanding that your partner is entitled to their own feelings and opinions even if you don’t share them.
~ Shared responsibilities. As I said above, to make a healthy relationship we have to work on it shared decision-making so you negotiate about things that effect your lives without either partner dominating. You should try to resolving conflicts in a rational peaceful, and mutually agreeing on a distribution of work which is fair to both partners. So, if you’re parents, the couple should shares parental responsibilities and acts as positives , non-violent role models for the children.
~ Loving and taking care. In a healthy relationship, loving and taking care of yourself, before and while in a relationship is important cherishing each other and holding one another dear. Love should be unconditional, meaning it does not waver depending on what you look like, earn, do, or say. Having good self-esteem so you can love and taking a good care of your relationship in a healthy way. You should have a capacity to express affection and foster intimacy to show and share your love. Having heart for one another means nourishing each other — opening your heart to one another exposes your deepest feelings. And connecting your hearts binds you deeply and inextricably. To get to the soul, close your eyes and sense the other person, feeling what’s in his or her heart and inner being.
~ Fairness/equality. You need to have give-and-take in your relationship, too. Being willing to compromise, accepting change, and seeking mutually satisfying solutions to conflict. In everything you do together, try to make sure things a pretty balance maybe both of you should take turns choosing which new movie to see. You know.things can get bad really fast when a relationship turns into a power struggle, with one person fighting to get his or her way all the time. Make sure there is an equal amount of give and take in your relationship.
Relationship can be one of the best and most challenging parts of your world. They can be full of fun, romance, excitement, intense feelings, and occasional heartache, too. Whether you’re single or in a relationship, remember that it’s good to be choosy about who you get close to. If you’re still waiting, take your time and get to know plenty of people. Think about the qualities you value in a friendship and see how they match up with the ingredients of a healthy relationship. Work on developing those good qualities in yourself they make you a lot more attractive to others.
