For women, the wisdom you acquire with age is often offset by the physical discomfort your body seems determined to inflict upon you. Menstrual cramps are a problem for many women and not just those with irregular periods. For the ten percent of women who suffer with either endometriosis or PCOS, the complaint can be considerably worse each month. Some women experience such severe pains they are not even able to leave their bed.
This is when you need some menstrual cramp relief you can count on time and time again. Most women rely on taking a pill during this time which also seems the most obvious answer. You can try any pain relief remedy and they should work but many women swear by Pamprin which was designed just for this reason. Many women won'’t take any form of pain relief but if you are one of those women maybe it is time you started to think about it.
Nothing can take the wind out of your sails or put a dampener on your day like painful cramps. Often the cramps are just one aspect of the discomfort because they can also be accompanied by nausea and the feeling of eating a very large meal. I just didn'’t want to continue enduring the pains almost every month so I started looking around for menstrual cramp relief remedies. Another problem is the irregularity because some months it feels as if I am being given a bear hug and others where there is no discomfort at all.
Heat pads can work quite well but you may find you have to experiment where it is placed for it to bring some relief. If you have tried pain relief pills and don'’t always find they work then it may be worth you trying a heat pad to relieve your discomfort. Whilst these ideas may be ok for some women, others that have regular painful menstrual cramps each month may need to do something more permanent. If this is a problem that affects your work attendance then you may need to do something about it before it damages your chance of promotion.
If you are finding the problem is getting too much then arrange for your doctor to prescribe a stronger form of menstrual cramp relief. Many women find that the birth control pill is an answer and the doctor may even suggest this remedy if they know you are not currently taking it. Just remember to talk about your health matters with your doctor to see if it is safe for you to be on the Pill, and remember, this isn'’t an option if you are trying to get pregnant and in that case, you may just have to grin and bear your discomfort. You can get relief from those awful cramps if you try enough different remedies because it is only a matter of time.
