Project Management Training To Succeed
Filed Under Personal Development | Comments Off
By Chris Kennelly
Project management training is essential for those wishing to enter this complex function. In enrolling in a project management training module or program you will find a varying set of disciplines that can be focused on in terms of the curricula for project training management.
Some of the areas that affect the project management role are scarce resources, tight deadlines, dynamically changing team issues as well as performance related issues of that team. In selecting suitable project management training options, the ideal would be to choose a course or module that offers as many disciplines pertaining to the project management function, to equip yourself for the inherent challenges that come along with this position.
A vital issue within this field is the establishment of a plan, which will be your guiding charter throughout the project. In order to draw up this project plan, the project management training should have covered the issues of service delivery, resource allocation and stakeholder satisfaction. The process requires a hands-on approach to addressing these areas and ensuring that vendors or subcontractors remain within the delivery dates and times. One the issues that can negatively affect any project are the late or non delivery of required resources. This has a ripple effect that essentially destroys the predefined timeline and can create havoc down the line. The initial negotiation and contractual agreements will address these issues and must be strictly adhered to.
Leadership skills are a prerequisite for project management, and should be detailed and focused upon by the project management training course you have chosen. The effect of leadership on a project can determine the success or failure of the entire operational procedure. These attributes will also encourage one to create and maintain a motivated delivery team.
Scheduling in the project management training program is another very important area, at times certain managers will mistakenly allocate a provider to deliver or provide an aspect of the project prior to the completion of the preceding element, although this rarely happens, it has done so in the past. The scheduling needs to be done on a realistic basis, incorporating factors that may influence the project. These factors can range from issues like required concrete curing times, or ground settling issues, there are a number of factors that can and will affect scheduling as well as project delivery.
Project management training encompasses many aspects around differing projects. The project manager is expected to have a thorough working knowledge of issues surrounding the processes and completion of the project. Hence the training is vital in establishing a good base knowledge to ensure success through the project management process. One even consider the project manager as a jack of all trades, meant with the utmost of respect of course.

Life Mapping: A Vision of Success
Filed Under Personal Development | Comments Off
By Ann Liu
Success is more than economic gains, titles, and degrees, if you want to achieve the success, have a proper plan is essential.
Planning for success is about mapping out all the aspects of your life. It is similar to a map, you need to define details in terms of origin, destination, vehicle, backpack, landmarks, and route.
Origin: Who you are
A map has a starting point. Your origin is who you are right now, when you ask people to introduce themselves, in the most case, people would say, “Hi, I'’m Jean and I am a 17-year old, senior high school student.” Yes, you got answer, but it does not tell you about who Jean is; it only tells you her present preoccupation.
To gain insights about yourself, you need to look closely at your beliefs, values, and principles aside from your economic, professional, cultural, and civil status. Your experiences can also give you insights on your good and not-so-good traits, skills, knowledge, strengths, and weaknesses.
Destination: A Vision of Who You Want to be
“Who do you want to be?” this is your vision. It is important that you know yourself so that you would have a clearer idea of who you want to be; and the things you want to change whether they are attitudes, habits, or points of view.
If you lack of self-awareness and hardly know about yourself, your vision and targets for the future will not be that clear. What I mean is basically your destination should cover all the aspects of your being: the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual.
Vehicle: Your Mission
A vehicle is the means by which you can reach your destination. It can be analogized to your mission or vocation in life. To a great extent, your mission would depend on what you know about yourself.
Travel Bag: Your knowledge, Skills, and Attitude
Food, drinks, medicines, and other traveling necessities are contained in a bag. You can apply this concept into your life map as well. What I mean is that you can bring certain knowledge, skills, and attitudes with you. These determine your competence and help you in attaining your vision. Given such, there is a need for you to assess what knowledge, skills, and attitudes you have at present and what you need to gain along the way.
This two-fold assessment will give you insights on your landmarks or measures of success.
Landmarks and Route: S.M.A.R.T. Objectives
Landmarks confirm that if you are on the right track while the route determines the travel time. Thus, in planning out your life, you also need to have landmarks and a route.
These landmarks are your measures of success. These measures must be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time bound. But remember that you cannot set two major landmarks such as earning a master’’s degree and a doctorate degree within a period of three years since the minimum number of years to complete a master’’s degree is two years.
Anticipate Turns, Detours, and Potholes
The purpose of your life map is to minimize hasty and spur-of-the-moment decisions that could make you lose your way. But oftentimes our plans are modified along the way due to some inconveniences, delays, and other situations beyond our control.
It just like in any path, there are turns, detours, and potholes, thus we must anticipate them and adjust it accordingly.

Living The American Dream
Filed Under Personal Development | Comments Off
By Kari Norwood
What is the American Dream? Is it enjoying life or is it being financially prosperous. I guess it can mean many different things to different people, but we would all like to have a piece of it. To me the American Dream is having the ability to control my own destiny. Having the ability to create my own wealth as well as the quality of relationships I have with the people in my life.
Many people today fall victim to the circumstances of their life or their past. Whether you are raised to believe that you must accept what ever your circumstances are or that you really have no control over what ever happens to you. That you must just wait for someone to tell you what you can have or what you can'’t have. You settle for the secure low paying job that you hate because you'’ve been told that’’s what you are suppose to do. Or maybe you have lived in poverty your entire life and everyone around says there is no way out.
I must tell you I to have been a victim of these poor beliefs as well. I allowed these ideas in my head have the control over my life and the relationships I had with the people around me. I felt that life just sucked and there was nothing I could do about it and with the economy in the state that it is thousands of people are losing there jobs and homes and they believe there is nothing they can do.
These beliefs are what hold people back from discovering what they are truly capable of achieving. Many of us have felt that someone has there thumb on top of us holding us down. That is not true! It is our own poor belief system in our heads that ultimately holds us down.
I'’m here to say that no matter where you come from or how bad you life may seen you can become successful. Not only financially but with the types of relationships you have with the people around you. What we believe about ourselves and our life truly plays a huge role in the way we view the people around and how we treat them.
If you really want to take control of your life and financial future you must learn to discard your poor belief system and begin to create a new one. You must learn to believe in yourself and your abilities. You must understand that most of us will never win the lottery or come into a large sum of money. Therefore must learn to create our own wealth. Take risks in your life with people and ideas. If you not successful your first time, don'’t give up. Learn from your mistakes and always believe you can do better next time.
This is what I did. I had to begin to change the way I believed life was and what I was truly capable of. I had spent most of my life closed off to the world thinking it would just screw me over. I had to learn to open myself up to the world and begin to take risks not only with my search for financial independence but also with people. I began to have better relationships as well finding the ability to explore new ideas witch ultimately led me to creating my own destiny. Always believe in yourself and never give up.

If You Feel You Need Cash Fast, Stop And Read This First
Filed Under Personal Development | Comments Off
By Rosamunde Bott
If you happen to do searches on Google along the lines of “need cash fast” or “need to make money now”, you will probably find lots of websites telling you how you can make money quickly on the internet. Sadly, this is the way many vulnerable people get taken in by scams; they are so desperate they do not stop to do the proper research or wonder whether it is really too good to be true.
Of course it is very possible to make money on the internet. Affiliate marketing is a valid form of home business and can be extremely lucrative, but do not be fooled into thinking it is easy and fast. Being successful with an online business takes a lot of time and effort and it is not the solution to immediate financial problems.
If you are in financial difficulty and having difficulty paying bills and debts, you do need to do something fast. Firstly, you need to get very clear about your situation. Get some paper and list all your monthly outgoings and income, and exactly how much money you owe. This is not a pleasant thing to do, but it really is essential, and being honest with yourself about how much you owe is actually very empowering. When you know exactly what your situation is, you are in a much better position to do something about it and make plans for your future.
You may find that your situation is not as desperate as you thought. However, if you are worried about paying your rent or mortgage, work out, realistically, how long it would it be before you lose your home. Is this in fact really likely? Work out exactly how much time you have before this happens and then give yourself a plan of action for this time period.
Next, make friends with any financial institutions you have accounts with. These days, particularly now that most people are feeling the pinch, most banks are prepared to be friendly and helpful as long as you are completely honest with them about your situation. Whatever you do, do not avoid people you owe money to. This is the way to get into more trouble.
The same goes for utility companies or anyone else you pay on a regular basis. Some things you might find you can reduce, or cancel altogether. But if you are up front about your difficulties, most companies will appreciate the fact that you are talking to them rather than just allowing things to get out of hand. Some companies have policies for arranging lower payments if you are experiencing difficulties. Don'’t be afraid of this; you are doing something positive for yourself by sorting these things.
In the UK there is are public services such as the Citizen’’s Advice Bureau where you can get free advice about all kinds of things. If you have an equivalent service in your country, then use it. You can find out whether you are eligible for any benefits and you can also get free legal advice if you are being chased for money.
Only after you have sorted out your immediate situation are you in a position to start planning for the future.
Focus on what you want, not what you don'’t want. For example, if you often say “I really want to get out of debt,” you are actually focussing on the debt itself, and it will be difficult to get out of it. Instead, focus on having lots of money in your bank account. Create a goal for what you want money for. Think of something motivating like buying a new home or providing your kids with an education. The more motivating this goal is the more you will want toget out of bed every morning to take action.
Try to let go of feelings of desperation and neediness. These are the very things that will drive what you want away. These feelings come from fear, and fear focuses on what you do not want. Instead, look at all the things you already have and feel grateful. Accept that where you are right now is exactly where you are meant to be.
Next, it is most important that you start to take action. All your goals and focussing will mean nothing unless you actually start doing something that will take you towards your goals.
You may not make money quickly. But if you follow these steps, you can begin to get yourself into a better situation from which you can create a more powerful future for yourself.
“I need cash fast” is not a powerful statement. It is needy and fearful. Allowing yourself to be honest about your finances, dealing with the immediate situation and then creating powerful, motivating goals that will drive you forward is powerful.
Starting an online home business is an investment in your long term financial future, not your immediate one. Join one by all means (it could be well worth the wait), but do not expect it to help you with an immediate financial emergency.

My Problems with The Bloke Who Bought the Company
Filed Under Personal Development | Comments Off
By Dave Poole
Victor Kiam was the guy who bought the Remington electric razor company in the mid 1970s, and then fronted those strangely irritating television advertisements which ran though the 1980s in which he told us that “I liked the shaver so much that I bought the company”.
For six bucks, I picked up a copy of his autobiography at the local second-hand bookstore. Although the book had travelled via a local high school library, one little bonus was that it contained Victor’’s signature on the inside cover. Well, it might have been Victor’’s signature or it might not. It looked genuine, although it may as likely have been the scrawl of a bored Year 10 student sitting in the library looking for something weird to do. Actually, I suspect that Victor’’s real signature would always have a drop of claret from a shaving nick smudged through the blue ink.
Anyway, Vic provides us with his secrets of his amazing entrepreneurial success, first as a salesman selling bras for the Playtex company (now there’’s a job worth thinking about), as a wildly successful importer of jewellery from China in the days when few westerners travelled to the Orient, and as the guy who bought Remington razor company, amazingly acquiring 100 percent ownership of the company for himself along the way.
Vic thinks that hard work is good, harder work is better, and that a version of self-slavery is best. Listen to his thoughts, “I was putting in 75-hour work weeks while my peers were toiling for only 40 hours or less. The difference showed in my results and my bosses took note of it.It takes more than talent to come out on top. If you work 20, 30, or 40 hours per week more than your peers, you'’re bound to outperform them just on the sheer strength of the extra time you'’ve invested”
It seems to me that old Vic’’s views might better mirror reality if he added the following: “All this is possible, as long as you don'’t mind not having a life. Geez, on your deathbed, you might be able to tell those nurses that there are 10,000 more women in the world in your D cups, 50,000 more gals who wear your baubles, and a million men who don'’t buy shaving cream anymore”
I tried looking up Vic’’s biography on the net. It seems he died in 2001 at the age of 75 of ‘’an unspecified heart condition'’. On the biographies I read, however, there is something missing. While it says that old Vic owned Remington and the New England Patriots football team, there is nothing to say that he did anything to actually help people. There is little sign of any philanthropic pursuits, and few lines about his concern for others (apart from his obvious concern about their looks). There is no sign that he actually supported anyone who needed a break, although much of his career was about providing a particular kind of support for the fairer gender. In fact, Neil DeFeo, the chairman of Remington when old Vic went the way of so many disposable razors simply said, according to a BBC story, that “he was a wonderful man and he'’ll be missed by many people. And he made a difference in American business.”
I guess that’’s the nub of my problem with old Vic. Making a difference in business isn'’t enough to sustain an epitaph, let alone a eulogy. If you don'’t make a difference in business then you can bet someone else will in your place. It’’s the way of our market system. If the folks don'’t buy your widget with the extra shiny end-piece and the extended warranty, they will buy the next guy’’s widget with its new fashion colours and its hyper-extended warranty.
I think that there is more to life than that, but the busyness of the corporate life makes truly accepting this reality an incredibly tough challenge. And, while you are probably nodding in agreement with me, living this reality is much tougher than it sounds, isn'’t it? After all, it probably took most of your time and energy to reach the point you have on the corporate ladder, and even more to get to the next level. Now you are there, your actions support the culture that you see as undeniable in this dog-eat-dog world, a culture in which only the fittest and fastest survive.
Without this, as surely as night follows day, the competition will eat you alive. And the stories of Jack Welch and his ruthless weeding out of the “C” and “D” employees at General Electric hint that doing less than this is nothing more than a demonstration of weakness, if not gutlessness. Mmm, so what are we to do about all of this? For me, it’’s about at least starting to model more gentle, and potentially more productive, behaviours in the workplace. Going out to lunch and dressing casually on Friday is a start, but nothing more. It’’s about showing our people that we are deadly serious about coaching our kid’’s soccer team and getting home twice a week when there is still enough light to have fun outside. It’’s also about pushing our people out the door before they wear out or burn out. When it comes down to it, it’’s really about encouraging a culture which doesn'’t see endless hours of toil as a substitute for energy and creativity and quality, the kinds of values which suffer when we are so tired that we can hardly make it home, let alone communicate when we get there.
I think that we also see an interesting myth at work here. It is dead Vic’’s myth that you can never spend too much time at work yet you can spend too much time at home, since it is “quality time” that counts. It seems to me that there have been very few more dangerous myths as prevalent as this one in our society. My friends, we have to confront this ourselves, in our own contexts and in our own ways, since otherwise old Vic’’s epitaph will be our own,
“Here lies a corporate who spent more time in his/her office than anyone else. Dave (substitute your own name!) was the cleaner’’s friend, and he gained a special satisfaction in turning the office lights off each night and being the first to turn them on again the next morning. In the end, we know that Dave was there for so many others, including his customers, his colleagues, and his clients. Unfortunately, however, they were the wrong others”

Hypnosis-Speaking To The Unconscious Mind To Control Someone
Filed Under Personal Development | Comments Off
By Marc Savage
Hypnosis is the process of communicating with the unconscious mind to have a person change their thoughts and actions to what you desire. It sounds simple and if you have the right training it is.
There are many techniques of hypnosis that can be used to control someone’’s mind to get what you want. The techniques used will vary depending on what you are tying to achieve.
If your goal is to control the minds of others then hypnotic mind control may be exactly the type of hypnosis you are looking for. With hypnotic mind control you speak directly to a persons unconscious mind.
Think about it. Your unconscious mind controls almost everything you do. The unconscious mind controls your heartbeat, your breathing and most of the learned tasks you do, like driving a car.
When was the last time you though to yourself “I better breathe right now”? I know it sounds silly but it is true. You don'’t think about it, it just happens automatically. That is the unconscious mind at work.
If you can talk to someone’’s unconscious mind through hypnosis, you can get them to follow your commands and they will think it was their own idea. Have you ever had an idea just pop into your head? Well, that idea came from your unconscious mind. Are you beginning to wonder if it was someone using hypnosis or mind control on you?
When you speak to someone’’s unconscious mind that is how you hypnotize them. You use hypnotic language or hypnotic language patterns to accomplish mind control. It is through these language patterns you speak to the unconscious mind.
Let me give you an example. Did you ever know you would immediately like and trust someone…me, when I realize I am going to immediate like and trust someone it’’s like you may feel as if you have known them your entire life.
That pattern uses something called embedded commands, which is hypnotic language, to speak directly to the unconscious mind. Embedded commands are one of the most important hypnotic techniques you can learn.
Another important hypnotic technique is the tone of your voice. When you want to use hypnotic mind control the tone of your voice will be a determining factor in you successfully hypnotizing someone.
When you give a command, you have a downward inflection in your tone. So when you use an embedded command you want to have a downward inflection. For example “If you want to learn hypnotic mind control” you would use a downward inflection on the words “want to learn hypnotic mind control.”
These are just a few of the many techniques you will want tot learn about hypnotic mind control. There are many others.

Does Your Need To Control Stop You From Succeeding?
Filed Under Personal Development | Comments Off

Did you know that your outer need to control is holding an iron grip on all of your inner development, wherein you are not allowing yourself to truly create what you want?
All people, more or less, have the need to control within their finances, health and relationships. Some of us have an overzealous need to control that can do harm to these important areas within our lives. How do you find out if you have these control needs?
Take a look at your current situation in for example, your finances your health and your relationships. If they are not in balance, as in 99 out of 100 cases, it is a control need that hides an internal reason for your extraneous symptoms.
Say, for example, that you have poor control of your finances and try to get balance and control of it through many outside actions. Unfortunately, your financial situation only gets worse and worse, without you knowing why. The key now is to find the internal reason that often is deeply concealed within your subconscious. When you figure out the reason for your poor financial situation, the need to control is gone and you can now do the extraneous action with extraordinary results.
Three tips to rid yourself of the need to control:
1. Figure out where you have extraneous symptoms that you know you cannot solve
2. Look deep within to find the inner reason for your problem. You will know when you have found it for it is the painful feeling that lies there and hurts the most, that you have never dared look for earlier
3. Let the negative feelings come to the surface so that they cannot control you from deep within. Now you are free to create what you want within that area. You are now released.
Good luck with the exercise.
When you have got rid of the need to control, you can start working with your outer goals. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Perform a reality check and find out where you are right now with you finances, relationships and health
2. Are you happy with the results you have accomplished so far, i.e. where you are right now? If not, define your goals for each area and write those down as detailed as possible with a due date for each goal
3. If necessary, break down the goals into sub-goals with due dates for the sub-goals
4. Define an action plan with the steps necessary for you to take to reach each goal and sub-goal
5. Take action

Can Autosuggestion Really Help With Your Subconscious Mind?
Filed Under Personal Development | Comments Off
By Forest Marie
If you are not familiar with the term autosuggestion, it is something you truly will want to study up on. Essentially, it is a mental training process that allows you to train the subconscious mind to accept positive beliefs. It can have an extremely powerful affect on your personal life and business life if done properly.
So how exactly does this whole process work? Autosuggestion is based entirely off of the concept of repeated suggestions. All this is really is the process of setting goals to work off of. This method is approached through communication between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind.
The entire process is based around the communication and teamwork of the conscious and subconscious mind. As the subconscious mind receives a series of repetitive statements from the conscious mind that act as affirmations, the subconscious mind acts on these suggestions without questioning them whatsoever.
As soon as these suggestions are generated from the self, it is referred to as autosuggestion. There are several examples of this that you probably do without even realizing it with business work and your personal life.
Things like repeating affirmations out loud, putting down affirmations on paper and listening to a self-recorded tape of autosuggestions are all prime examples. They give us the motivation and confidence needed to get through life happy and successful.
As you can see, this can be a vital piece to succeeding in life happily. It is obvious why you will want to include this in your life. Without applying this process to your life, you will end up being influenced by negative thoughts and ideas.
For instance, on a daily basis you probably hear a plethora of negative comments coming from co-workers, friends and family. Everything from the economy struggling to how difficult it is to make it in life can be brought up. If you do not practice this mental training process, you can fall victim to these negative connotations.
Hearing these negative comments day after day will certainly affect your life. The more often you hear them, the easier it will be for your subconscious mind to believe them. And as soon as this happens, you will be living a life filled with belief in negativity.
In order to live a happy and fulfilling life, it is vital you practice this autosuggestion on a daily basis. It will allow you to avert any negative connotations you may face on a daily basis.

Health Alert: Hypnosis as a Medical and Social Treatment
Filed Under Personal Development | Comments Off
By A. Thomas Perhacs
Often when we are sick we resort to medicated drugs and pills. These drugs are effective where common infections like cold and cough are concerned. But where chronic illnesses are concerned, these drugs don'’t help much. They can make us feel alright for the time being but they will not remove the illness from its root. So, it is necessary to find other ways of curing such diseases. One good way could be hypnosis.
Ever since hypnosis has been practiced in our society, there has been some kind of stigma attached to it. Of course it has its advantages and disadvantages. But there have been cases where hypnosis has cured people of their illnesses completely. So, people who have chronic illnesses like arthritis, headaches, etc. can look up to this cure. If nothing, then hypnosis can at least relieve you of the pain.
Hypnosis to Reduce Pain
Hypnosis can also be used before surgery to reduce the level of pain. Studies have proved that hypnosis actually reduced the pain in patients who had a surgery. Also, these patients showed fast recovery and were discharged earlier. Doctors can use hypnosis instead of giving anesthesia to patients. Here are a few uses of hypnosis:
- To reduce smoking.
- For reducing the stress levels, since hypnosis can help clear out the mind.
- To cure insomnia.
- To motivate and overcome fears.
- To correct speech problems.
For more uses, head to the nearest encyclopedia either online or off. You'’ll find chapters of info to help.
Hypnosis for Mental Diseases
Hypnotism can also be used to cure mental diseases. Hypnotic therapies have been known to work wonders with mentally handicapped patients. Mental illnesses like amnesia, depression, phobia, schizophrenia, etc. can also be cured through hypnosis. Hypnotism can be used to calm their thoughts and restore their disturbed state to normal. Hypnotism can bring about behavioral changes in patients.
One of the uses of hypnosis is to bring about a positive change in life. Let us see how that is possible. A person when hypnotized is in a subconscious state. And our subconscious mind is our master. It is the one that affects our life and influences our decisions. So, through hypnosis, the therapist or the doctor can alter the negative thoughts in a patient’’s mind and induce positive thoughts in him or her.
Hypnosis for Postive Attitude
Hypnosis is used to bring about a positive change only when other cures have failed. But other cures like anti-depression pills, shock treatments don'’t have a lasting effect on the patients. What works is hypnosis. Hypnotic treatment has a permanent effect and does not cause a relapse of the disease. With hypnosis all the negativity is simply eradicated and replaced with happy thoughts.
For more information on how to use hypnosis for a positive change, refer to your handy encyclopedia as well as online articles on expert and authority sites. A couple of tips for people who want to use hypnosis as a treatment are, first: don'’t seek help from an untrained professional, as this might cause you severe damage. And second, don'’t opt for trying self hypnosis right off, unless you have mastered the art or are doing it under supervision.
