Muscle Building Nutrition

The body needs nutrition just like anyone else’’s. However, it is key to get the right kind of nutrition for it, the proper muscle building nutrition.

As you go on about your exercising, it will mean virtually nothing if you'’re not maintaining your body in the correct way. By eating the right things, and having good nutritional choices, you'’re making the best use of this time exercising.

The types of foods you eat, and what they contain in them is very important to your muscle building. Any food you eat will contain carbohydrates, fat, and protein.

Muscle will make you heavier, but fat is not something you should desire.

Try to eat less fatty foods, about 20% total. The more protein you consume, the better your workouts will go.

The general standard is 20-40-40.

This means that you should consume about 20 percent of fat, and 40 percent of carbohydrates and protein to ensure that you are maintaining your nutritional standards.

Carbohydrates come from food that is very good for you, including vegetables, oatmeal, and potatoes. This should not be confused with the carbohydrates you can get from sugary treats or unhealthy, fattening foods and desserts.

When it comes to which fatty foods to avoid, you should have no problem steering clear. If it is not something you think you should eat, then you probably should not be eating it. Loading up on your protein and health foods should give you a good idea of what not to eat.

Muscle building nutrition does not solely involve the foods that you eat. How you eat those foods is also very important.

Consume regular meals per day, up to four on average. This means that instead of eating bits of foods all day, or even large quantities of foods all day, you should be keeping a balanced nutrition.

There is a way to accomplish your physical goals, as well as decreasing your fat, and that is by staying on top of what you eat.

By staying healthy and eating regularly, you can keep up your muscle building nutrition in an excellent way. Always eat breakfast, and make sure to consume healthy fruits and vegetables with each meal that you consume.

Remember not to cut fat out of your diet, just avoid any unhealthy fats such as foods containing vegetable oils or corn oils.

Drink lots of water, not drinks with caffeine.

Caffeinated drinks not only contain sugars that are bad for you, but they also contain a lot of calories which will make you time at the gym feel pointless.

Keeping water by you to hydrate with, or of course, the healthy green tea, is always a great idea. Finally, unprocessed foods are more nutritional than processed foods.

Unprocessed foods include meats, vegetables, and fruits, whereas processed foods include things such as canned meat, frozen dinners, or pizza.

Building your body muscle, while maintaining your nutritional, balanced, diet is a very important thing. It is necessary to always eat right while trying to build an attractive physique.

No matter how much time you spend at your gym, the fuel you put into your tank is always going to be the key to what makes you run right.

You might be asking yourself why the movement towards organic skin care products has been so enforced within the past few years. If you are asking yourself this, you may want to try it. Those who have turned to organic skin care have discovered a refreshing secret that has given them solutions to the many ailments found in today’’s world. By applying the organic ingredients, the skin receives the strength and treatment it needs to defend against many attacking and irritating conditions. With strengthened skin, you can be sure to feel a new youth and vigor that is noticeable to your peers.

What can be considered organic? If it isn'’t straight from the plant that naturally produces the ingredient, it cannot be organic. Even the plant itself must be grown in an environment that has not been chemically influenced. This is to avoid the taint of human interference in the growth of the plant. Any organic ingredient cannot contain debilitating substances. Chemicals, petroleum and other by-products are some such substances. Organic ingredients are considered pure without human engineering involved in the growth of the plant.

Without the involvement of bioengineering or chemical influence, these ingredients are safe to apply to the skin. There is no harmful substance that will penetrate the skin, and you will notice the change. The recuperating process that the skin does so well will be enhanced to its greatest potential.

The consequences of using products that contain either bioengineered or even entirely synthetic ingredients can eventually be detrimental to the skin. Applications that ought to help improve your skin will eventually come to harm you after a period of time. The chemicals will enter the body and can alter your bodily systems. Using synthesized products may harm your body’’s ability to fight illness or give adequate oxygen to all parts of the body.

Now if we track the process of acquiring the ingredients, we find that only the highest of quality is used in these products. From all parts of the world, diverse cultures have gradually joined in helping supply these materials. Since the focus is not mass production, each farmer and caretaker is graceful in its nurturing of the plants that will be used. It is for this reason that the ingredients are hard to come by at this point in time. Lack of cooperation from farming communities has made large production of organic substances impossible at this time.

While the organic market is growing rapidly, it maintains its standards of quality, and each product guarantees the satisfaction of its users. The use of organic care materials will continue to enhance your lifestyle, and give you another reason to smile.

What is the best sports nutrition for an athlete? There is no definitive answer to this. No athlete has the same need. It all depends on the physique of an athlete and the kind of sports that he or she is into.

So, if you are contemplating on joining an endurance sports competition, the best sports nutrition for you is the nutritional table fit for an athlete that expects long hours of vigorous physical activity and mental alertness even when tired.

Endurance sports test the physical and mental fortitude of an athlete; if you are not well fed for this kind of competition, it would be better for you if you would back off from the competition.

Best sports nutrition a day before the event
Do not overwork yourself on the day before the event. It would be wise if you would only do stretching and a few kilometers of jogging, eat protein rich food, hydrate yourself (a lot!) and rest for the rest of the evening because you need to get up early, as early as four hours before the game.

The best sports nutrition in endurance sports is hydration. You should be hydrating yourself even a week before the game. This is to keep your body cleansed, fueled and watered for the coming event.

If you only hydrate yourself on the day of the event, you won'’t hold too much water. Most of the liquid that you intake will only seep out through sweat. So, if you want to go to the game in full tank, drink lots of water beforehand.

Another best sports nutrition tip that you must learn by heart is to eat food rich in protein, to keep your muscles in shape, and carbohydrates so that your glycogen stores would be at their best. You can hydrate yourself well with sports drink that contains minerals to balance your electrolytes level.

Best sports nutrition hours before the event
Eat a meal before you run. This is the best sports nutrition advice that you should keep in mind. You need glucose to keep your blood sugar in normal levels. Glucose fuels the brain and the muscles during an activity.

If you lack glucose in your body, you cannot think properly because your brain does not have enough fuel that it needs. Worse, you might faint even before the race begins of hypoglycemia.

Having enough stores of glucose in your body will keep you alert and going even for long hours of physical activity. So, don'’t forget to eat a light to moderate meal before you race.

Long hours of running, swimming and bicycling will definitely deplete your glycogen stores in your liver. So, a carbohydrate rich meal will be your best choice of pre-race meal. It can quickly restore your reserves of glycogen in your liver and put the fulcrum back to normal. You can bring with you carbohydrates bar which you can munch while running, and drain it down with water or sports drink.

According to health experts, best sports nutrition tip to get the carbohydrate you need is to eat food that you know won'’t make your stomach upset. Stress can induce diarrhea. Add up food that your digestive system hates and you will see yourself sitting on the throne while your competitors have started running after hearing the gun fire.

When to eat your pre-race meal? The sports nutrition experts recommend one to four hours before the assembly time and then nibble 50 grams of carbohydrate every hour before the game starts.

Instant oatmeal, bananas, low fat milk and energy bars are good sources of carbohydrates. Always follow a meal with water or sports drink. Never drink soda or caffeinated beverages because they will work of you as diuretics. According to the best sports nutrition magazines in the country, caffeine drains the body of fluid.Add up salty foods to your meal. Salt will help you retain more water in your body.

A carefully designed sports nutrition program must be in place to be able to achieve desired results. These programs will work best if they are based on scientific research and feedback from various competitive and recreational athletes through the years. This fact should be confirmed first before fully engaging oneself in any type of program.

Adherence to what sports nutrition programs advise will significantly bring in positive results.
However, just the same, one should be attuned to his body and to the information that it conveys to further bring in positive outcomes. The suggestions in the programs must be in synchrony to what is actually and currently happening in the body.

Moreover, one must take careful note that any sports nutrition program does not intend to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any illnesses. There has to be a consultation with a physician first. This should be the case most especially if the program includes very strenuous physical activities or exercise routines.

Sports nutrition programs vary depending on the needs and targets of an individual. For a very active person intending to maintain general fitness, for example, there is a specific program for him.

Intake of a recovery drink after workouts containing carbohydrates and protein may be essential for those working out at least seven hours in a single week. Drinks such as Ultragen and Endurox R4 are recommended. The protein will help the muscles recover faster from workouts, enhance the immune system, and elicit a positive response in spite of stress during training.

Intake of multivitamins and antioxidants is likewise essential as such will fight the cellular damage that may take place as an effect of free radical activities induced by exercise.

Moreover, supplements such as Endurox Capsules not only help the body cope with stress during training, they also decrease body fat levels. This is just an example of a sports nutrition program for those who are geared at maintaining general fitness.

On the other hand, for a competitive athlete, there might be some differences in his own sports nutrition program which appears to be stricter.

Energy drinks or energy gels must contain carbohydrates which are known to sustain energy in spite of regular stressful and tiring trainings. Carbohydrates also replenish reduced muscle and liver glycogen and prevent dehydration.

Supplemental protein must be taken in as well as it promotes muscle recovery, enhances the immune system, and makes one stronger in spite of stress. Both carbohydrates and protein must be taken in during or in-between heavy workouts. Multivitamins and antioxidants are equally essential as well as high performance products.

HMB supplements are mostly recommended as they have been proven to significantly improve aerobic endurance, hasten recovery from stress, and reduce levels of fat in the body. Furthermore, fats in the body are further reduced if the supplements are coupled with Carnitine.

A lot of factors are common in both sports nutrition programs. However, the difference lies in the amount, timing, and regularity of intake of the above-mentioned factors. Thus, it is indeed very important to identify how strenuous the exercise or physical activity will be before starting with any program. Also, one must be completely aware of the current condition of the body.

These sports nutrition programs aim to bring out the best in all workouts and gear up the body for future activities, whether for competition purposes or for overall maintenance of fitness.

Whatever the case may be, it remains very important to choose the most appropriate program. Otherwise, positive results may not be expected and may even bring in the extreme opposite. Careful examination should be done early on.

Rising Number of Marital Affairs

By Brandon Grittini

Although many people feel alone when they discover their spouse has had an affair, they are not alone in terms of the shear numbers of affairs that are going on.

Below are some statistics that will show how common marital affairs are becoming.

Social Class

Adultery does not know how to distinguish between social classes. It does not care who you are, what your income is, where you live, where you work or any other factor.

Around 60% of adulterers are middle class wage earners, and of those, 40% are women. The most common age bracket of people having affairs are between 25 and 39, which also coincides with the highest demographic of divorcees.

Common Traits of an Affair

Some things that are common are that among cheating spouses, most only knew their spouse for 2 years or less prior to marriage, and they have been married for less than 3 years. This is not to say that it is uncommon to find couples who have been married for more than 25 years to have one spouse having an affair.

Gender Disparity

For some reason, we always assume that men are the cheaters. While the statistics do lean that way, they are much closer than you may think. In fact, 22% of men and 14% of women admit to having an affair. Women are closing the gap on cheating spouses.

Who Knew?

Keep an open eye to your spouse’’s activity. That is not to say you should focus on your spouses every move or assume that h/she is having an affair, but pay attention to their activities and behaviors.

Your spouse, if they are having an affair, will leave behind many clues they are unaware of. If you can pick up on them, you may be able to catch your spouse cheating!

The importance of paying attention is in the statistics. Of married women, 70% never knew that their husband was cheating. Of married men, 54% never knew their wife was having an affair.

Length of an Affair

Affairs affect 1 in every 3 couples. That’’s 33%! But how long does an affair last?

* 10% of affairs last 1 day
* 10% last more than 1 day, but less than 1 month
* 50% last more than 1 month, but less than 1 year
* 40% last more than 2 years!

What is most interesting is that the divorce rate for those who marry their lover is 75%! This is because affairs lack the necessary emotion to sustain anything long term. They ignore faults between the two parties which gives off a false feeling of love.

Work Place Affairs

Some studies suggest that 2 out of 3 women and 3 out of 4 men admit they have sexual thoughts about co-workers. While a thought doesn'’t always lead to an affair, 75% of men and 65% of women admit to having sex with someone they work with.

There are endless statistics to talk about, but these are some of the important ones. Now that you'’ve read them, do you think your spouse is cheating on you?

The Best Tricep Exercises To Build Muscle

By Shawn LeBrun

The most effective tricep exercises to build muscle

Much like there was for biceps, there are two tricep exercises that are above the rest in terms of effective muscle building stimulation.

If you want bigger, fuller looking arms, work more to build muscle on your triceps.

Triceps (3-headed) make up more of your arm than do biceps (2-headed). Most people are so preoccupied with biceps training that they forget about triceps.

Building more muscle on your triceps mean bigger arms.

Lying tricep extensions

Place a curl bar at the head of a bench. Sit down, grab the bar with an overhand, narrow grip, and lie down on your back, pushing the weight up and straight over your chest. Bend at the elbows lowering the weight behind your head.

With an explosive motion, push the weight back over your head until your arms are fully extended with the weight above your chest.

When you complete your reps, use your momentum to rock your body up and stand up to put the bar back on the edge of the bench.

This is probably the most effective tricep exercise you can do. You can use very heavy weight with these, increasing the overload factor to the triceps. Use a curved curl bar for these.

There are a couple of points to keep in mind.

When you lower the weight, bring it past your forehead and down towards the middle of your head.

Bringing the bar to your forehead will create unwanted pressure and stress on your elbows.

After you slowly lower the weight towards the back of your head, power the weight back up forcefully, extending and locking your arms, contracting your triceps.

Also, once you have completed these for your set of 4-6 reps, do not bother doing close-grip bench presses immediately after, using the same bar and weight.

Once you have fatigued the triceps on your set, it is pointless to try and do a few reps of close-grips at a lighter weight than you can handle when doing regular close-grips. Save your energy.

Close-grip bench presses

This is the second of two extremely effective tricep exercises.

This is a definite muscle builder for the triceps. It is performed just like a regular bench press except your hands are 6-8 inches apart from one another.

You lower the weight to your chest like a regular bench press, and then forcefully push the weight up, locking your arms and contracting your triceps.

Do not grip with a too-narrow grip of this will definitely cause some pain to your wrists.

Regular grip bench press also works the triceps, but when you bring your hands closer together, more overload is directed to the triceps.

Cable tricep pushdowns

Reach up, grab the bar, and push the bar down towards your thighs.

Stand with a sturdy foundation that will allow you to lean into the movement. Now bend at the elbows and control the weight up until the bar is by your chin.

With an explosive motion, push the weight back down until your elbows lock, fully contracting the triceps. Repeat thisuntil you complete your reps.

These are a great tricep exercise, designed to hit the triceps with serious overload. Most people can do these with more weight than they think they can.

When doing these, lean forward a bit, lean into the weight. This will keep you more balanced and will also allow you to handle more weight than standing straight up.

Also, when bringing the weight up, allow the bar and your arms to come up a bit more than parallel to the floor.

Allow the bar to come up to about shoulder level. The reason behind this is to increase the range of motion and to also decrease the stress on the elbows.

Really exaggerate locking the arms and squeezing the triceps when you bring the weight down.

These are 3 of the best muscle building tricep exercises you can use if you want to build muscle in your arms.

The other day, a friend of mine was released from prison. During his “vacation,” he acquired several–and by several, I mean at least five or six–new tattoos. Aside from the fact that prison is the absolute riskiest place to get a tattoo, it occurred to me that some of these tattoos he might come to regret later in life. This got me to thinking about the worst ideas for tattoos I'’d ever seen. Here are some of them.

Any tattoo that covers a large part of your face. People need to remember that most people find themselves in need of going to job interviews dozens of times during their lives. And try as they might to ignore them, it’’s hard for an interviewer to look past some overly-prominent tattoos on the face. After all, your face is precisely where you hope the prospective will be looking during the course of the interview.
A tattoo with your boyfriend / girlfriend’’s name, especially in a prominent place. No matter how infatuated you might feel about the person right now, there’’s a good possibility that this person won'’t be your life-long soul-mate. You might just find yourself dating someone else in the near future–with a different name, in most cases.

A tattoo that is publicly seen which disparages other religions. How can you hope to ever have a civil conversation with a Jew if you have swastikas on your body? And can you expect a Christian to have a good first impression if you have anything that suggests you hate Jesus or churches? Maybe you think right now that you don'’t want to associate with them anyway. But what if they sign your paycheck?

A tattoo by a tattoo “artist” with inferior art skills. This is no joke: I once saw a tat that looked like it could have been Elvis or it could have been Celine Dione. I'’m sure it was meant to be one or the other; I'’m equally sure it wasn'’t supposed to be both. Best check your tattoo artists references before committing.

Any tattoo that’’s done by a friend which takes more than one session to complete. I have one reason for this: I'’ve seen several instances in which the friend just never gets around to finishing it. One guy had a huge heart tattooed on his back, with a black outline where a person'’ s name was clearly supposed to go. But the friend / tat artist couldn'’t find time to finish it. So even in the middle of summer, this guy was afraid to walk around shirtless because of a clearly-incomplete tat.

So what’’s a person to do if he’’s gotten any of these bad-idea tattoos? Fortunately today, there are several removal methods available, including laser removal, salabrasion (scrubbing the skin with salt), excision (cutting off the skin with the tattoo) and home-removal kits, like Nuviderm.

I have discussed some negative things associated with drinking tap water. You may be very concerned for your health and may want to change your drinking habits right away, but don'’t go out and buy gallons upon gallons of purified bottled water just yet.

The shocking truth is that approximately 25 to 30 percent of these “purified waters” come from our very own municipal water systems. Some of this water may undergo additional filtering, but some do not. There is no knowing where the water originates from, despite the promises, guarantees, and the pretty forest pictures that adorn some of our bottled waters. The EPA may be lax about the contaminants that are in our drinking water, but the National Resources Defense Council reports that bottled water companies do not have requirements to disinfect the water or to test for parasites, such as giardia and cryptosporidium.

Bottled spring water is taken from water that flows naturally to the surface of the earth from an underground formation. Purified water can be produced by reverse osmosis, distillation, or deionization. A fairly new kind of water is artesian water, which is taken from a well that is atop a confined aquifer. I'’m sure there are more waters available to consumers, but this is just touching the surface. With so many choices on water and so much bad and good information thrown around about bottled and tap water, it’’s understandable how you may be confused about what to do next. Should you continue to drink the tap water and risk your health, all the while praying and hoping that your local municipal system is doing their part in providing the cleanest water possible to you? Should you avoid all tap water period and opt for what you think is the cleanest bottled water, despite the downside of our landfills being filled with millions of plastic bottles?

One option you may want to look into is to buy a home water filter system that can be installed on your kitchen sink. A water filter system is beneficial in that you are not contributing to the plastic dilemma in the landfills, and you are saving money by drinking your water from home. Do your research because not all water filters act the same way. You will find that a good percentage of water filters only meet the minimum government or industry standards of water purification. In other words, you might as well drink your tap water. You will want a water filter that can filter out lead, VOCs (volatile organic compounds), cysts, chlorine, and fluoride while also leaving natural trace minerals that are essential to our health, such as magnesium and potassium. Be wary of gimmicks and filters that promise too much but under deliver.

To your health!

An earache is one of the most common maladies amongst people, young and old. Many times, an earache is initially treated with antibiotics, if an ear infection is suspected. But what happens when there is no sign of an ear infection, antibiotics are not doing any good, and there seems to be no one to turn to for help? Here is an idea that is crazy enough that it might make sense: go see a dentist.

A dentist for an earache? Many people may not realize how close to the mouth the ear really is. Think about it. The mouth extends as far as the ends of the jawbones which, incidentally, join together fairly close to the ear. And, sometimes things that should fit together well dont, causing pain. Often when there is pain, there is inflammation and swelling. Sometimes the pain is so strong that it becomes difficult to pinpoint exactly where the pain is coming from. This can be exactly the case in people who suffer from something called TMJ.

Temporomandibular Joint Disorder, or TMJ, is the diagnosis for chronic or acute inflammation and pain in the temporomadibular joint, which connects the lower jawbone to the skull. Not only are the teeth, jawbones, and ligaments affected, but tendons, muscles, and nerves also fall prey to this oral beast. With so many different components being targeted by TMJ (including the ear), a specialist may need to be called upon to help simmer down the symptoms. This oral guru is none other than the neuromuscular dentist.

This dentist is, in a nutshell, a specialist who can treat symptoms of TMJ by correctly re aligning the jawbones. Neuromuscular dentistry is the practice of also correcting bad bites, such as overbites and underbites. General dentists treat the gums, teeth, and bones, while this specialized dentist works his magic on soft and hard connective tissues, nerves, and muscles. To correct a misaligned jawbone or bad bite that may be the cause of TMJ, the dentist first takes a measurement of the head and neck when they are relaxed to determine the best position for the jaw.

Re positioning the jaw can then be achieved by orthotics or orthodontics to restore teeth to their correct positions, relieving the jaw of all of the stress caused by these bad bites. And, it just makes sense that happy teeth in a happy jaw make happy ears, so that is why you should call your dentist if your ear hurts.

Buying Baby Clothes - For Dummies

By Kimberlie Waddoups

Shopping for baby clothing can be harder than you think, especially if you'’re shopping for someone else’’s baby. Hopefully this article will give you a few ideas on how to buy baby clothes. We'’ll also throw in a few tips about buying baby clothes online.

Size

Baby clothing is usually sized according to the age of the baby. The sizes are as follows: 0-3 months, 3-6 months, etc. These age groups can sometimes be a problem because you may have a bigger or smaller baby than normal. My baby boy has already grown out of his 0-3 months clothes and he is only one month old.

When buying baby clothes for a newborn, try buying the 3-6 months size and you'’ll stand out from the crowd that is buying clothes the baby will only be able to wear once. Trust me, the mother will thank you later when your clothes are the only ones that fit her newborn.

Online Tip: Most places you shop online will have a section where you choose the size of the clothes. If they don'’t, then do not purchase there.

Gender

If you are trying to buy baby clothes, then we sincerely hope you are shopping for a girl. Why? Options and quality. For some reason designers have created a lot more baby girl clothing than baby boy clothing. If you don'’t believe me, try going to Target and tell me if you see more pink or more blue?

The quality of baby girl clothing is also better than baby boy clothing, probably due to the sheer quantity of baby girl clothing. If you are looking for unique baby clothes, you'’ll have a much easier time if you'’re shopping for a girl.

Online Tip: A few stores online actually allow you to create your own onesies, a nice feature if you'’re looking for unique baby onesies or other baby clothing.

Price

Baby clothing prices fluctuate wildly depending on the quality and name brand recognition. I'’ve never been a huge fan of paying for the name brand but sometimes paying more is worth it.

Remember not to buy all of your baby clothes before the baby is born. Doctors are not 100% accurate in determining the sex of a child–it’’s no fun to take back all of those cute clothes after being surprised with a boy when you thought you were having a girl. Try buying gender neutral clothes if you are buying for someone who hasn'’t told you the sex of the baby.

It is good to remember that babies grow extremely fast, another reason not to buy tons of clothes before the baby is born (you could be stuck with a bunch of clothes that don'’t fit).

Babies make messes often. You might be surprised how often they spit up on their brand new clothes (babies are more prone to spit up if they are wearing your favorite outfit). If you'’re on a budget, don'’t spend all of your money on something that will be getting dirty fast.

Online Tip: Watch out for shipping prices! Some places charge as much as $5.00 per item. You can find special deals where shipping is free (though you usually have to spend a fair amount before getting these deals).

Shopping for baby clothes is extremely fun. Hopefully these tips will help you have an overall positive experience when shopping for baby clothes for yourself or for a friend.

Online Tip: Watch out, online shopping can be extremely addictive.
